Sunela
Sunela at City North in north Phoenix sets a new benchmark for luxury multifamily living. Built on a long-paused redevelopment site once planned as a premier shopping and dining destination, the project reintroduces City North’s modern, white, urbane aesthetic. Greystar and Crown Development envisioned Sunela as the first of 3,000 planned residences, designed to lead the market in quality and price. Todd & Associates shaped an architecturally striking corner with generous amenities to foster both public connection and resident interaction. Our interiors extend that vision through a modern, fresh, and inviting feel that reflects the site’s evolving demographics and layered history.

Our inspiration began with a simple chair: golden wood and softened by a white matte finish. Strong lines balanced by the gentle curve of its arched back. Masculine with a feminine touch.
So are our interiors: wood, stone, and metal reimagined. Bleached woods, warm marble, silver and gold accents. Masculine and feminine in balance.
Dramatic architectural screens wrap the interiors, with massive drywall frames holding laser-cut wood in soft, feminine patterns. These details shape lounges where residents can wait, connect, or relax in style.
Our leasing program is built on concierge service. A high-top reception desk offers immediate walk-up access, while an adjacent desk supports seamless handoffs to leasing agents. Management offices are positioned nearby for direct support and resident care.
We achieved Greystar’s goal of an indoor/outdoor design with an open catering kitchen with indoor and outdoor gathering tables. Spaces designed for community gatherings and resident entertainment. Indoor and outdoor dining furnishings bring a seamless connection to the spaces. The floating kitchen with open shelving connects to the adjacent media room and entertainment spaces. Focused on the media wall, backed with acoustical panels and wood architecture paneling, a generous furniture grouping of leather and wood provides group gathering opportunities. Window side chairs and counter stools add to the space usage and opportunities for residents to find their own place.
all in the details
Through custom interior detailing developed in our studio, we shape and model the volume of each space. Our construction documents translate an architectural shell into a dramatic interior, with millwork that defines spaces, adds architectural character, and balances function with beauty. We curate furnishings that are as effective as they are visually compelling, creating a cohesive composition of architecture, interiors, and furniture.

Sunela is located in an affluent and professional community with a sophisticated demographic that is mobile and entrepreneurial. Extensive space and priority was given to developing spaces for residents to work and connect in a business environment. With street side access, residents are able to meet colleagues in a Wework environment, with premium amenities. Work pods provide multi functional needs. Focus spaces for individual work, conference spaces for meetings and work lounges for business discussions. A collection of soft furnishings line the street side windows. Providing multiple work and gathering solution through a combination of arrangements. With walls of glass to connect and soft furnishings to gather, this is the resident’s vision of luxury work from home.
We designed a series of glass-box rooms that balance privacy with connection. Each space is tailored to a specific work function, yet all remain visually linked. The result is a workplace community built through proximity and sight, fostering genuine human connection in a digital world. This mobile workspace is more than an office; it’s a hub for networking and community.
